Club Rides, Membership and Insurance:

Please note that you MUST be a club member or secondary member with an ABA membership to participate in a Crankmasters ride or race.  This includes our Saturday and Monday club rides and is for insurance reasons.  We have been advised that insurance is void for ALL participants on the ride/race if a non-member is allowed to participate hence we must enforce this rule. Membership is for the calendar year from Jan 1 to Dec 31 regardless of when in the year you join.  Don’t forget to sign up for your volunteer commitments throughout the year.

We have 2 levels of club memberships:

The Primary level, 1st claim ($75.00  Early Bird Reduced to $50), is the standard membership that includes the annual ABA insurance dues. The rate goes to $60.00 after March 31, 2024.  This level of club membership allows the rider to participate in all Crankmasters rides and races. All Primary members are required to volunteer for two CrankMasters events in the current year. Also a $100 volunteer deposit is required at time of registration for all Primary Members.  This will be refunded at the end of the year if your volunteer commitments have been met.

The Secondary level, 2nd early bird membership fee  ($40.00, $50.00 after March 31, 2024), is for riders that belong to another club and have paid the annual ABA insurance dues through their ABA affiliated club. This level of club membership allows the rider to participate in all CCCC rides and races. Please ensure you indicate your affiliated club name on the membership form as this will be checked.  The volunteer deposit is not required for secondary members but we do strongly encourage you to volunteer your time to help.

Note: ABA insurance is included in your membership.  If you intend to race in ABA sponsored events, you must obtain an ABA race license.  See www.albertabicycle.ab.ca  for more information.
